Doug co-founded VRA in 2006. His 30+ years of investment banking experience in the middle market provides VRA clients with significant value-added insight, having advised founder and family-owned businesses, leading private equity firms and publicly traded corporations.
Prior to founding VRA Partners, Doug was a Managing Director, Head of the Technology & Communications Investment Banking Practice Group and Chief Operating Officer within the Investment Banking Department of The Robinson-Humphrey Company and its successor, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Doug's responsibilities included leading merger and acquisition and capital raising assignments, as well as managing the firm's day-to-day operating activities.
Doug began his career at Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co., a leading middle-market M&A boutique investment banking firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he advised clients on merger and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and capital raising transactions. He also worked in the Investment Banking Department of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York City, advising publicly-traded companies on merger and acquisition and public offering transactions.
Doug received an AB from Duke University and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
